Gary and Nina have heart for ministry and serving kids and teens! Together, Gary and Nina, passionately pursue the two things they both love most: sharing the message of Christ and empowering young women and men to lead purposeful lives.
Apostle Gary and First Lady Nina lead The New Derrick's Temple Church in Rock Island. Their church motto is "I conquered that" from Romans 8:37. As servants of God, Gary and Nina find joy in giving back to their community and cherish spending quality time with their family, creating lasting memories. Together, they have four children, whom they love deeply and are very proud.
Nina Williams was born in Joliet, Illinois, and raised in the heart of the Chicago area. Her life experiences, especially the challenges she faced as a young teen mother, have played a significant role in shaping her faith in Christ. Though her Christian journey has not always been easy, through unwavering faith and the grace of God, Nina has overcome many obstacles and achieved much.
Gary was born in the city of Chicago, Illinois, the fourth of eleven siblings. He was introduced to the Lord at an early age through the faithful influence of his mother, who made church a consistent and meaningful part of his upbringing. His spiritual foundation was further strengthened by his grandmother, who served as a pastor and modeled a life rooted in faith, leadership, and service!
God has also blessed Gary with creative gifts that he is passionate about using for His glory! He is an accomplished musician, writer, composer, and recording artist, and enjoys using these talents to inspire others and point hearts toward Christ.
Gary and Nina's journey to YouthHope is one they firmly believe was led by the Lord. They felt called to serve in the roles that allow them to be fully who they each are individually and as a unit in Christ—serving with authenticity, compassion, and purpose! YouthHope aligns deeply with their hearts for faith-centered service and creating a positive, lasting impact within the community.
