Opportunity, Support, and HOPE for Teens!
Providing consistency, compassion, and a place to belong
YouthHope is proud to partner with Mayo Family Charities on the Sophie Grace Mayo Initiative, named in honor of family matriarch Sophie Grace Mayo, whose lifelong compassion and service to children in-need continue to inspire generations of her family. Known for opening her home and heart to children facing abuse, neglect, or hardship, Sophie embodied grace, dignity, and action in service of others. Through this partnership, the initiative will support programs including:
- Language Access Program (Immediate Need)
YouthHope serves families representing more than 100 native languages. Today, staff often rely on personal devices and free tools to communicate. This program will provide dedicated translation resources so every family can be met with clarity and care. - Chicago Comedy Retreat (Summer 2026–2028)
A weekend experience for older youth, earned through YouthHope program participation, focused on confidence, creativity, and exposure to new environments and opportunities. - Community Leadership & Education Grants (2027–2028)
Modeled after Eagle Scout service projects, these grants will support older teens as they lead community initiatives and continue their education. - General Operating Support (2026-2028)
Providing funds to support the abundance of critical programs YouthHope already provides to support youth in the Quad Cities.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 over the next three years to support and grow these efforts. YouthHope and the Mayo Family thank you for your consideration and for helping us continue Sophie’s legacy of compassion and care for children and families in need.
